Discipline in a wider sense, is a way of living life and carrying out activities based on the existing rule and regulation, norms and values and system. On the ethical and moral ground discipline is a treasure of everyone one who remains in the boundary of discipline will never fail in works but also becomes the apple of everyone’s eyes. It can be said that disciplined effort take us successfully to the destination. Discipline is necessary to everybody. It is equally important to the people from high ranking officials to layman. The judge and advocates, president and ministers, journalist and administrator, driver and teacher, army and students alike should be in discipline. Only a disciplined person becomes punctual, dedicated, laborious and moral. As a result, success, they embrace. An undisciplined driver becomes a victim of accident, an undisciplined teacher spoils the student, an undisciplined administrator ruins the nation and an undisciplined minister corrupts the state. Thus, discipline is a most since it is the way of success.
Discipline, however, is relative in every society. For
example, making boyfriends and girlfriends and kipping pre-marital relation is
a matter of shame and sheer immorality in traditional societies. But in the
western societies such activities are commonly practiced. Moreover, taking alcohol is prohibited in some
communities whereas without drinking it some of rituals remain incomplete in
some communities. Thus, discipline is a relative concept.
Discipline makes people civilized and moral. It makes
people good and polite, responsible and dutiful. A great many religious holy
books, priests, sages and mentors teach us to be disciplined since disciplined
citizens create peace, security and harmony in a country. Disciplined employees
have far higher chance of promotion too.
In this way, to get rid of bloodshed and fighting, immoral
activities, terrorism, theft and robbery and to make a nation full of harmony
and prosperous, disciplined is a must.
